Donaeo has bubbled on the grime scene for a while now but he’s making big moves in UK funky . “Devil in a Blue dress” got some big love last year but “Party Hard” is the one for me right here.
This is pretty much a track in two halves. First it bounces along with Donaeo handling the vocals but then suddenly the track dives deep into some other world Detroit retro vibe with some devastating synth strings and screwed up vocal samples!

Emynd makes some of our favourite jump up – turn around – get down kinda music. For his “We don’t give a fuck” release featuring Young Chris on the spit he got some of the freshest remix talent together ( namely Eli Escobar, Ayres and Cousin Cole) and they have all taken this joint to new and sunny places.

Platform2 is a unique opportunity for 18-25 year olds from the UK to volunteer in a developing country and then come back and creatively express their experiences in the UK. It’s aimed at people who wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to volunteer abroad, so it’s fully-funded and free for the volunteer.
The programme includes return economy flights, travel insurance, local food and accommodation, a small local allowance, health screening, a medical kit, all minimum required vaccinations, transfers to and from the airport in country and to and from the project, a guidebook, and full training in the UK and in the country.
There are places left on the 2009 trips so here are the application deadlines for the next 3 departures. There will be placements in every country we work in and each project within that country.

Mongrel are getting some serious remix attention on their new release.
We all know by now that Mongrel are some kind of indie super group and expectations are pretty high for the forthcoming album “Better than Heavy”.
They hit the road soon and that’s definitely a show worth tracking down in your area. In the meantime here are some super hyped remixes from their single release “Hit from the Morning Sun”.

Fromage are an out and out, good times, disco party crew from Melbourne Australia. They hit us up with loads of quality disco edits and I just had to share.
Fromage have been the host of some quality parties in recent years… building off the back of an unwavering good taste in quality disco music.
Most recently they hosted Todd Terje at their weekly La Di Da event.(I had the pleasure of actually taking Mr Terje to the recent Soulfulvibes gig in Liverpool UK a few weeks ago. I couldn’t go to the night so I ended up as the driver. I think I went a bit far in the car banging on about UK funky to “the Todd” but who cares, I’m that kind of guy!)
